The mirror is clean and clean as you can see in the picture… The auto dimming will darken the mirror automatically when the cars behind you or on the side is too bright or with high bean as well as cars from opposite direction with to bright headlight or high bean. It will then clears back to normal when the brightness reduce from cars in front or behind automatically. Dealership will cost over a hundred dollars just for the mirror + time of installation. Here is an easy way to add a backup camera display to your GM vehicle while still keeping the compass & temperature display in your rearview mirror!! It’s the dual display model that shows compass heading & temperature at the same time, and is the common light blueish color. Mirror has a 3.5 LCD color backup camera display on the left side of the mirror glass!! Your vehicle must currently have a rearview mirror that already has compass & temperature display in order to use this mirror, as the temperature sensor is not included with the mirror. I tried to list as many of the vehicles that I know had a compass/temp mirror as a factory option in the compatibility listing, but as you may know, that list is far from complete & will not let you put all of the vehicles in that should be in there. So if you’re not sure, ask me! The new plug will also have a video cable already attached to it that is about 9 feet long and will have a female RCA socket on the end. For the all of the other vehicles in the list that currently have the compass/temp mirror with the 16 pin plug , you will receive a new 9′ video cable that you will need to add to your existing plug. Instructions on how to do this will be provided with the mirror.
