The plastic tabs break off. It was a poor “one time use” design by Ford. Sometime in late 2013 or early 2014, Ford changed to a better design that is removable without breaking the tabs. So if you have a 2013 or 2014 try prying off your emblem first to see if you’ll need to order a replacement (or glue/silicon the old one back on). Communication is the best way to solve the problem.
