1990 Porsche 944 S2
Clean MOT & extensive history. Cream leather interior, clear lenses, new speakers, front splitter & reverse camera. Full close up for sale video on YouTube – search pedal loud 944 for sale! 1990 Porsche 944 S2 Coupe registered on 15. February 1990 to its first lucky owner by Hedell and Deeks official Porsche centre in Dorset. This is a good, strong, surviving example of this modern classic transaxle Porsche, having recently benefited from minor fixes which can be viewed on YouTube YouTube link. (or search for 944 Pedal Loud) The car is fitted with its original 3.0-litre alloy inline-four producing 208bhp coupled with the standard five-speed manual transmission, perfect 50/50 weight distribution and a great service history to back up its regular use and maintenance. The current mileage is 183k. This car always received the proper care and maintenance it deserves from its 9 previous owners. This is an unrestored 31-year-old 944 S2. The gloss black bodywork presents well with no evidence of accident damage. Option code stickers are visible in the boot area. During my ownership, the paintwork has been detailed, receiving a full correction, clay bar, touch in, machine polish and wax. This has given a lovely shine to the coachwork. The common failure points of rusty sills have been addressed by a previous owner in with supporting paperwork. However, allowances should be made for historic smart repairs, age related imperfections, some very light surface rust on the arches, aging to some of the door rubbers and very light scratches commensurate with age. This 944 S2 offers the lucky new owner the opportunity to obtain a very usable, well presented mechanically sound modern classic ready for regular use just in time for the nicer weather. Outside the car, the rear Porsche decal is straight and appears original. The paint protection film is missing from one front wheel arch and one rear wheel arch. The car sits on its original 16 Design 90 alloy wheels which benefit from the original colour crested caps but would benefit from refurbishment. All tyres have a lot of tread left. There is a small crack in the drivers side front fog lamp. Having previously owned an S2 in this exact spec back in 2001 and a turbo in 2008, this is my third 944 and fifth Porsche. It was acquired by me to feature in a YouTube project series. As part of the series the car has undergone the following repairs to bring it up to standard: headlight adjusters fixed, headlight bulbs replaced, heater control resistor fixed, sunroof cogs replaced with harder wearing brass items, dashboard clock repaired and bulb replaced, door lock rods replaced, number plate holder reverse camera and aftermarket single DIN Bluetooth touchscreen head unit fitted, clear front indicator lenses fitted, new rear hatch boot struts, fix to rear hatch release button, new front lower splitter and new front speakers fitted. I know these cars and their foibles well. There is not much wrong with this 944 as far as modern classics go. The interior comes equipped with Porsche linen (cream) full leather seats, linen cream-coloured carpets throughout and black dashboard. The dashboard is solid, and all carpeting is in good condition with the original boot carpet presenting well. The OEM space saver spare, original tool roll and non-OEM inflator are present. The black leather gear lever gaiter appears to have been replaced and is in good condition. The original lozenge steering wheel is in excellent condition with only minor fraying on the stitching. The centre console cassette box hinge is complete and working. The door cards are original with a minor tear on the drivers side and poorly fitting electric window switch block. There is some minor fabric shrinkage on the headlining for the sunroof. All electrics are in full working condition including both electric windows, the electric tilt sunroof (which can be fully removed) and even the illuminated digital clock. The rear wiper motor has been removed; the hole having been replaced with a watertight bung. The motor (faulty), housing and new wiper blade are present. The rear luggage blind struggles to retract but this is easily fixed if required. The car is fitted with its original, fully working Porsche fitted Hamilton and Palmer immobiliser, an original and new immobiliser key are present. Once the immobiliser is disabled the car starts first time. It runs, drives, and stops accordingly. The brake pedal feel is a little soft and may benefit from being bled. The car belies its age and mileage, and the recent improvements see this car wanting for very little. Both doors open and close solidly as they should. The car performs well when out on the open road, gear changes are solid, clutch action is firm and the car encourages you to make progress. The last service at 176k miles was completed by Octane Garage Porsche Specialist in Kent, where the following extensive work was carried out: oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, oil change, handbrake shoes, brake hoses/pipes, brake fluid change, gear oil changed, clutch bled, clutch hose, starter motor refurb, drive shaft gaiters and the all-important camshaft drive belt and balance shaft belts. Before this the car has received regular maintenance at Porsche and various specialists backed up by a series of service stamps and receipts. All of this can be shared via a google sheet if required. The last MOT was on 11 September 2020 and the car had no advisories. The car has always been on the road, in use and never stood. It has been MOTd consistently every year and there have been no MOT advisories since 2013. 2 x fully Porsche crested in colour! Keys are present including 2 x immobiliser keys. This Porsche 944 S2 is a very original and mechanically strong example of the 944 S2 with plenty of opportunity for the new owner to use, maintain and enjoy this appreciating modern classic well into the future. Car is available for insured COVID compliant test drives only in Frimley, Surrey. Summary of service history. ABS Antilock Brake System (Bosch). Detachable roof panel, electrically openable.
